Here’s the much awaited release date of Mohanlal’s Odiyan!

Mohanlal’s Odiyan has been in the news ever since it was announced last year. Fans are eagerly waiting to hear even the slightest of info about the movie. Ad filmmaker VA Shrikumar Menon is making his directorial debut with Odiyan, which is scripted by National award winner Harikrishnan.

The team of Odiyan have been on a break for sometime now. The third and final schedule was supposed to start this month but it has now been pushed further, owing to Mohanlal’s other commitments. The superstar is now shooting in Mumbai for Neerali, his upcoming with director Ajoy Varma. After that he will reportedly join the sets of Kayamkulam Kochunni in which he is playing the role of Ithikara Pakki.

As per trustworthy reports, Odiyan’s next leg of shoot will commence only after Mohanlal is free from his ongoing assignments. Meanwhile, certainly reports are doing the rounds about the release date of Odiyan. October 18 is said to be the date but an official announcement regarding the same has not yet been made by the makers.

Odiyan is a fantasy thriller that will have a mix of action, romance and magical realism. The movie is primarily about Odividya, a kind of black magic and people who practice it, called odiyans. The story is set in three different timelines starting from the pre-electricity days in the 1950s to 2000.

Odiyan stars Mohanlal, Manju Warrier and Prakash Raj in the lead roles. The movie based on the life of odiyans has Mohanlal playing the role of odiyan Manikyan. The narrative follows Manikyan’s life from his childhood to his 60s. In this upcoming schedule, the younger versions of the trio’s characters will be shot. All three of them will be appearing in multiple getups in the movie.

Odiyan’s technical crew includes India’s leading stunt master Peter Hein. Pulimurugan’s cinematographer Shaji Kumar is wielding the camera and Sreekar Prasad is handling the edits. Around 70 days of shoot is left for the movie. Aashirvad Cinemas headed by Antony Perumbavoor is funding this big budget movie.
