Here’s the star-studded crew of Vijay 62!

After shattering almost all pre-exisiting records in Kollywood with Mersal, Vijay is gearing up to start his next with hit maker AR Murugadoss. Vijay 62 is easily one of the most hyped films of this year. The actor shares a great record with Murugadoss as both their previous films – Thuppakki and Kaththi – were big blockbusters and are placed in the elite 100 crore club.

Sun Pictures is making a comeback to production by backing this big budget film. Their last venture was the blockbuster Rajinikanth starrer Enthiran, released back in 2010. Last day, they had announced the whole crew of the upcoming Vijay starrer through their official Twitter handle. It is a star-studded team with several big names in it.

Malayali cinematographer Girish Gangadharan, noted for his stellar works in films like Guppy and Angamaly Diaries, is making his Tamil debut with Vijay 62. Multiple National award winner Sreekar Prasad is the editor and art director T Santhanam have also been confirmed. Maestro AR Rahman will be scoring music for the movie. It is his second successive film with Vijay after Mersal and it also marks his reunion with Murugadoss after a gap of 10 long years. They last worked together in the Hindi remake of Ghajini.

In the cast, only Keerthy Suresh and comedian Yogi Babu have been confirmed as of now. It is Keerthy’s second outing with Vijay after last year’s Bairavaa. Though the movie didn’t work as expected, their on-screen chemistry was noted. It will be interesting to see how the pair come together in a Murugadoss film.

As per reports in Kollywood medias, the makers are planning to start shooting after Pongal. Meanwhile, Vijay has boarded flight to China for a short personal trip.
