Here’s the stunning first look poster of Jallikattu

The first look poster of Lijo Jose Pellissery’s ‘Jallikattu’ has just been released. Starring Antony Varghese in the lead, the movie has been highly anticipated by all cine lovers. ‘Jallikattu’ is set to have its world premiere at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), which will be held from September 5-15.

In the official website of TIFF, ‘Jallikattu’ is described as a film presenting a portrait of a remote village in Kerala where a buffalo escapes and causes a frenzy of ecstatic violence. Some mind-blowing new stills from the movie were also recently shared on the TIFF website.

‘Jallikattu’ is based on S Hareesh’s short story ‘Maoist’. The original story discusses about the Maoist situation and a person’s right to freedom, from the perspective of two buffaloes. According to Lijo, ‘Jallikattu’ is a satire told with lot of humour. Taking the crux out of the short story, the makers of ‘Jallikattu’ have developed a screenplay that explores the beastly side of man.

Along with Antony, the movie also stars Chemban Vinod Jose, Sabumon Abdusamad and Vinayakan in prominent roles. Its technical crew comprises of composer Prashanth Pillai, cinematographer Girish Gangadharan, editor Deepu Joseph and sound designer Renganaath Ravee. It is expected to have a theatrical release in October.
