I must’ve seen Hey Ram around 40-50 times: Rajinikanth

The new office building of Kamal Haasan’s production house, Raaj Kamal International was inaugurated today in Chennai. Superstar Rajinikanth, ace director Mani Ratnam, lyricist Vairamuthu and several other prominent personalities from Tamil film industry attended the function.

Speaking to the medias present, Rajinikanth and Kamal opened up about their mutual respect for each other and how they continue to remain such close friends even after all these years. Rajinikanth also talked high of Kamal Haasan’s genius. The superstar revealed that there are only three films that he keeps watching in his free time and Kamal’s ‘Hey Ram’ is one among them. He added that he must have seen that film like 40-50 times.

On his part, Kamal congratulated Rajinikanth on being honoured with the Icon of the Golden Jubilee award IIFI 2019. He said it was a delayed honor as Rajinikanth had become an icon right from his first year in the industry. About how their friendship lasted for so long despsite being in a competitve industry, Kamal said that it is because they don’t pay heed to gossip mongers and clarify issues between them directly.
