I really respect Mammookka a lot: Joju George

Joju George is now a very popular face among the Malayalis. He has established himself as a great supporting actor. Joju has been part of some wonderful movies, doing noteworthy roles. But not many know that he has an acting career that spans over two decades.

Joju became what he is today only through his hardwork and perseverance. For a good part of his career, he was offered only side roles. But he has no qualms about that, he believes that every movie was an experience that gave him a lot to learn.

In a recent interview, he opened up about his admiration for Mammootty. Joju is very close to the megastar. He respects him a lot and considers him as a big inspiration. Mammootty was the very few who genuinely enquired about Joju even when he had not done anything significant.

Joju George has played a wide variety of roles in his career. He has done villain roles, humour roles and performance oriented ones. In 2015, he won a special jury mention in the Kerala State Film Awards for his performance in Lukka Chuppi and Oru Second Class Yathra.

Joju George’s latest release is the Kunchacko Boban starrer Ramante Edanthottam, in which he played the pivotal role of Elvis. It is a grey shaded character and that actor has been getting appreciation from critics and his colleagues for his well-balanced performance.

Joju has now started a new production house with his friend and filmmaker Martin Prakkat. Their first venture is Manju Warrier’s upcoming movie Udhaharanam Sujatha. Shoot for this movie, directed by debutant Phantom Praveen is currently progressing in Trivandrum.
