I waited 17 years for my Malayalam debut, happy that it finally happened with a Dileep film: Siddharth

The much talked about Kammara Sambhavam is gearing up to hit screens this Vishu season. Murali Gopy has scripted the movie which marks the directorial debut of ad filmmaker Rathish Ambat. It is an epic set in three different timelines. Dileep and popular South Indian actor Siddharth play the lead roles in the movie which focuses on historical accounts and how it is depicted by the ones who wrote it.

Siddharth is unarguably one of the most talented and versatile among the younger generation of actors in South cinema. Starting his journey in cinema as an assistant director to Mani Ratnam, Siddharth then plunged to acting with Shankar’s Boys. Soon, he made big strides and started bagging roles in Hindi and Telugu films.

In the recently held audio launch event, Siddharth talked about how he waited for 17 years to make his debut in Malayalam. He is quoted saying, “God has been very kind to me, I made my debut in Tamil with Shankar, in Telugu with Prabhudeva and with Aamir Khan in Hindi. It took me 17 long years to make my Malayalam debut and I’m so happy that I got to do it with a Dileepettan film.” Adding more on his admiration for his co-star, Siddharth said, “Dileepettan is like a ‘rakshasanadigan’, which means whoever stands next to him, he’ll finish them off. I’ve shot the film for about 100 days and I can say nobody can score against him.”
