Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay film Theri surpasses Chiyan Vikram-Shankar film I record !

Theri, the Atlee directorial cop story starring none other Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay is gearing up for a 14th April release all over and it had already started breaking records here. The distribution rights of the film had bought by Friday Film House in association with Carnival Motion Pictures Private Limited, for a whopping 5.6 crore rupees.

It is a new record here in Kerala as it had surpassed the record created by Shankar-Vikram team’s film I, which had got rupees 5.35 crores as distribution rights in Kerala. Global United Media had bought the distribution rights of I last year.

Now Theri had become the other language film which had got the highest amount as distribution rights in Kerala. When ‘I’ had done it, there were two names, Vikram and Shankar, which made it possible. But Theri had done is based on one and only name and that is Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay. This once again shows the market of Vijay in Kerala and the craze for his films here in Mollywood. The strong fan base he has here in Kerala making his films a sure bet here in Mollywood box office.

Just like Mammootty and Mohanlal, Vijay also has a market of his own here and that what made the distributors to purchase the rights of his films for such a huge amount.
