Indian 2 to be made on a budget of over Rs 200 crores

As we already know, Kamal Haasan and Shankar is teaming up for an ambitious sequel to their 1996 classic hit ‘Indian’. Though the movie was formally launched in January, shoot was stalled halfway after the makers faced quite a few roadblocks. The film is now being revived and full fledged shoot is set to begin from August 12. Lyca Productions is backing the film and it is said that the movie will be made on a lavish budget of over Rs 200 crores.

Along with Kamal Haasan, ‘Indian 2’ will have a big supporting star cast. Bollywood action star Vidyut Jammwal, Kajal Agarwal, Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Aishwarya Rajesh are also said to be part of the movie. Recently, Priya Bhavani Shankar confirmed about acting in the film with a tweet which reads,

‘Indian 2’ has Kamal Haasan reprising his role of Senapathi, a freedom fighter-turned-vigilante. Shankar has written the movie’s screenplay and dialogues are penned by Jeyamohan, Kabilan Vairmuthu and Lakshmi Saravanakumar. Others in the technical crew include music director Anirudh Ravichander, cinematographer Ravi Varman, editor Sreekar Prasad and production designer Muthuraj. The makers are planning it as a summer release next year.
