Industry insiders heap praise on Mammootty’s The Priest

Hitting screens last day, Mammootty’s ‘The Priest’ has taken a great opening at the box office. The makers have confirmed that the numbers have exceeded their expectations. Since it is the first major Malayalam film to release post pandemic, the hype was huge and going by the initial response, the film seems to have lived up to the expectations.

The general response in social medias have also been positive. Besides fans, even industry insiders have heaped praise on the film. RJ Midhun, RJ Mathukutty, directors Marthandan and Ajai Vasudev are some of them who have shared their thoughts about the film in social media.

‘The Priest’ directed by debutant Jofin T Chacko is a mystery thriller with supernatural elements in it. Mammootty plays a priest named Father Benedict, who’s into solving crimes and parapsychology. The film is centred around his encounter with a mysterious girl named Ameya. ‘Kaithi’ fame Baby Monica plays the kid’s role while Nikhila Vimal and Manju Warrier also essay important roles.
