Is Chiyaan Vikram Joining Unni Mukundan in ‘Marco 2’?

Unni Mukundan’s Marco has become the ninth Malayalam film to enter the 100-crore club, continuing its remarkable run at the box office. Directed and written by Haneef Adeni, the film was produced by Shareef Muhammed under the banner of Cubes Entertainment. Known for its intense violence, Marco has been crafted as one of the most violent films in Indian cinema.

The movie ended with hints of a sequel, sparking speculations about Marco 2. Social media is abuzz with discussions about the possible new additions to the cast alongside Unni Mukundan. Recent unconfirmed reports suggest that Tamil superstar Chiyaan Vikram might play the antagonist in the second installment of Marco. Now, a photo of producer Shareef Muhammed with Chiyaan Vikram dropped on social media and that has added fuel to this speculation.

Director Haneef Adeni reportedly has a rough blueprint for the sequel. However, Unni Mukundan revealed that the sequel will only commence once a script surpassing the first part is finalized. Amidst these revelations, the rumors of Vikram’s involvement as the villain began circulating. Current reports, however, deny the validity of these claims.

The first part of Marco featured an ensemble cast including Siddique, Jagadish, Anson Paul, Kabir Duhan Singh, Abhimanyu Thilak, and Yukti Thareja alongside Unni Mukundan. The film has been racing ahead as a pan-Indian blockbuster. Its Hindi version alone grossed ₹10 crore, while the Kerala box office contributed a massive ₹40 crore gross. Marco is now officially the biggest hit of Unni Mukundan’s career.
