Jagathy Sreekumar shoots for CBI 5: The Brain

Shoot for the fifth installment in the CBI franchise is currently at its last stages. The film which has been titled as ‘CBI 5: The Brain’ marks the reunion of Mammootty, script writer SN Swamy and director K Madhu. All the four films in the series had Mammootty as CBI officer Sethurama Iyer while Mukesh and Jagathy Sreekumar played his colleagues, Chacko and Vikram.

While Mukesh was already confirmed in the cast, it is now learnt that Jagathy Sreekumar will also be making a cameo appearance in the film. The actor, who has been away from movies for nearly a decade since the near-fatal accident in 2012, has shot for the film despite not being in his best self physically. The makers have shared a location still featuring him along with Mammootty, Mukesh, Renji Panicker, SN Swamy and K Madhu.

‘CBI 5’ also stars Sai Kumar, Anoop Menon, Dileesh Pothan, Renji Panicker, Soubin Shahir, Asha Sarath, Ramesh Pisharody, Sudev Nair, Anna Reshma Rajan, Malavika Menon, Malavika Nair, Swasika, Ansiba Hassan, Kottayam Ramesh and many others.

On the technical front, Jakez Bejoy has been assigned as the music director and Akhil George is the DOP. Swargachitra Appachan is producing the film.
