Jakes Bejoy to compose music for CBI 5!

As reported earlier by us, the popular CBI franchise is set to return for one last time. The trio of Mammootty, director K Madhu and script writer SN Swamy are reuniting once again. The fifth installment in the series is expected to start rolling once the Covid-19 situation gets better. Meanwhile, the makers have started the pre-production works. On the technical front, it is is learnt that Jakes Bejoy has been signed as the music director.

It goes without saying that the background score in CBI series is an iconic one that is hugely popular till date. Veteran Shyam had composed the music for all the four films in the series. With Jakes on board this time, we can expect an upgraded version of the original score. Jakes is one of the leading composers in Malayalam cinema today. Some of his best works came in films like ‘Queen’, ‘Ranam’, ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’, ‘Forensic’ etc.

With ‘CBI 5’, Mammootty will be back once again as the intelligent investigating officer Sethurama Iyer. Scenarist SN Swamy had earlier said that the fifth installment in the series, which will also be the final part, will be one of the best ever thrillers that Malayalam industry has produced till date.
