Janhvi Kapoor to star in the Hindi remake of Nayanthara’s Kolamaavu Kokila

Nayanthara’s hit Tamil film ‘Kolamaavu Kokila’ aka ‘Ko Ko’ is all set to be remade in Hindi. Janhvi Kapoor will be starring in the film’s Hindi version. Debutant Siddharth Sengupta will be directing and Anand L Rai is producing it. More details regrading the project are awaited.

‘Kolamaavu Kokila’ directed by Nelson Dilipkumar is a heroine-centric crime comedy. The film got released in August 2018 and was well received. Critics praised Nayanthara’s performance and Anirudh’s music, which was the film’s biggest highlight. It eventually went on to become a box office success. The Hindi version is expected to be tweaked to suit the sensibilities of the North Indian audience. Pankaj Matta is adapting the script.

Janhvi Kapoor meanwhile is on a high after the success of ‘Gunjan Saxena’. Besides ‘Kolamavu Kokila’, she is also starring in another South Indian film’s remake. She has signed to play the lead role in the Hindi version of hit Malayalam film ‘Helen’.
