Jayam Ravi and Mohan Raja reunite for Thani Oruvan 2

On occasion of third anniversary of the release of Thani Oruvan, director Mohan Raja officially announced a sequel for the film. Thani Oruvan, released in 2015, had Arvind Swami, Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara in the lead roles. The sequel will once again have Jayam Ravi in the lead, but it is still not known if other actors including Arvind Swamy and Nayanthara will be retained.

Thani Oruvan 2 would be Jayam Ravi’s 25th film, and he along with his brother Raja will be trying to make it a special one. The brothers have previously worked together in several films. In fact, Mohan Raja was the one who launched Ravi through his film Jayam, which was also his directorial debut.

Later, they teamed up for films like M Kumaran Son Of Mahalakshmi, Unnakum Ennakum, Thillalangadi and Santosh Subramaniam. Their last outing together was Thani Oruvan. All the aforementioned films were commercially successful with Thani Oruvan garnering unanimous acclaim.

Jayam Ravi has action thriller ‘Adanga Maru’, and the epic film ‘Sangamithra’ in his kitty. He has also signed for a movie with director Ahmed of ‘Manithan’ fame.
