John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan to star in Ayyappanum Koshiyum Hindi remake

Last year’s superhit Malayalam film ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ is still hot in the remake circles. The Telugu version starring Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati is already underway. Tamil remake rights have also been sold but the lead cast is yet to be finalized. Meanwhile, reports have emerged that the film’s Hindi version will have John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan as the leads. There is still no confirmation regarding the same but if it turns out to be true, it will mark the ‘Dostana’ duo’s reunion after almost 13 years.

John Abraham’s production house JA Entertainment had bagged the Hindi remake rights of ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’. After acquiring the rights, John had tweeted,

Ayyappanum Koshiyum, a film that strikes a perfect balance between action, thrill and a good story. At JA Entertainment we are keen to bring such appealing stories to our audience..we hope to make a truly engaging film with this remake in Hindi. Really Excited !!!

‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ directed by late Sachy is a dual hero film that revolves around the conflict between a soon-to-retire policeman and a retired havildar. It tells an intricately woven tale of revenge with some socio-political issues also addressed. Prithviraj and Biju Menon played the lead roles in the original.

It will be very interesting to see how the film gets adapated to different languages to suit the sensibilities of the native audience.
