Kaatalan Porinju: Mammootty in Oru Mexican Aparatha director’s next!

Tovino Thomas starrer ‘Oru Mexican Aparatha’ was one of the biggest commercial hits of last year. Tom Emmatty directed the movie which was a campus based political thriller. Now the director is working on his next – ‘Kaatalan Porinju’ for which he is in talks with megastar Mammootty. The director himself revealed this in a recent interview.

Apparently, Mammootty is highly impressed with the character and has given his nod for the project. The director is currently busy with the scripting, so it is not yet known when the movie will go on floors. Kaatalan Porinju is a real life person who was well known in the Thrissur region in the 80s.

As per the director, Kaatalan Porinju, the real life person was a larger than life character and some of the incidents in his life were stranger than fiction. It will be a mass action flick shot in and around the Thrissur city and market. The director is doing some research works to know more about Kaatalan Porinju and his eventful life.

Meanwhile, Mammootty is shooting for Shaji Padoor’s Abrahaminte Santhathikal: A Cop Story. He also has Oru Kuttanadan Blog, Bilal, Maamaankam, Kunjali Marakkar IV and Basil Thomas’ next in the pipeline.
