In a groundbreaking move set to redefine digital streaming records, Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan and visionary director Mani Ratnam’s much-anticipated collaboration, “Thug Life,” has secured an unprecedented Rs. 150 crore deal with Netflix. This staggering agreement marks one of the largest streaming acquisitions for an Indian film during its production phase.

Featuring a star-studded ensemble including Trisha Krishnan in the lead role, “Thug Life” is poised to captivate audiences with its multi-layered narrative spanning three distinct periods. The film also boasts a diverse cast, including Aishwarya Lekshmi, Simbu, Gautham Karthik, Nasser, Pankaj Tripathi, and Ali Fazal.

Produced jointly by Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam, R. Mahendran, and Siva Ananth, backed by iconic AR Rahman music and Ravi Varman cinematography, “Thug Life” promises to deliver a cinematic spectacle. With Kamal Haasan portraying multiple characters, the action-drama, co-written by Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam, was unveiled on Kamal Haasan’s birthday in 2023.

Scheduled for a much-awaited Summer 2025 release, “Thug Life” is a collaboration between Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies. This ambitious venture is set to redefine storytelling and production standards in Indian cinema, backed by the streaming giant Netflix’s significant investment.
