Kamal Haasan to start shooting for Indian 2 only after finishing Vishwaroopam 2 and Sabash Naidu

After a lot of speculations, Kamal Haasan finally made the official announcement of Indian 2 on the Big Boss finale stage last day. He will be teaming up with ace filmmaker Shankar for the sequel of their classic film Indian, released back in 1996. Dil Raju of the famous Sri Venkateswara Creations will be funding this highly ambitious project.

Ever since the announcement was made, there are talks about the future of some of Kamal’s already committed films like Vishwaroopam 2 and Sabash Naidu. Both the movies have been shelved for certain unknown reasons for sometime now. Kamal himself is directing both these movies but he left them halfway to concentrate on his small screen stint, where he was hosting the Big Boss show.

But the good news for fans is that Kamal will be moving to Indian 2 only after wrapping up the remaining works of Vishwaroopam 2 and Sabash Naidu. Kamal’s spokesperson is quoted saying “Shankar had a meeting with Kamal a few days ago. The film is likely to take off only after Shankar wraps up 2.0 and Kamal completes his Sabash Naidu and Naidu and Vishwaroopam 2.”

Shankar, meanwhile is also busy with the post-production works of his magnum opus 2.0 starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in the lead roles. The movie is slated to release for January next year. Reportedly, the director will start working on the pre-production of Indian 2 from February. It is being planned as a Tamil-Telugu bilingual and will also be dubbed and released in all major Indian languages.
