Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and Mrunal Thakur in Talks for Prabhas’ Cop Thriller ‘Spirit’

Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for blockbuster hits like Kabir Singh and Animal, is gearing up for his next ambitious venture, Spirit. Starring Prabhas as a cop, this high-octane thriller is set to redefine the cop-action genre in Indian cinema. Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film is slated for release in 2026, with pre-production currently in full swing.

As per insider reports, Mrunal Thakur is in advanced discussions about playing the female lead opposite Prabhas. Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan are also considered for key antagonistic roles. If finalized, the real-life couple will make history by playing on-screen villains together for the first time.

“Spirit is a unique blend of action and drama, with characters crafted in shades of grey. Vanga’s vision aims to offer a fresh narrative to the cop thriller genre, presenting Prabhas in a never-before-seen avatar,” said a source close to the project.

The film will feature high-octane action sequences, including dynamic confrontations between Prabhas and the antagonistic duo. After wrapping Spirit, Vanga will reportedly begin work on his next film, Animal Park, with Ranbir Kapoor in 2027.
