Kerala box office to witness a three-way clash this Vishu

Vishu season is fast approaching and as always we have some exciting films coming up in Malayalam. The Nadirshah directorial ‘Mera Naam Shaji’ will be the first to kick-start the race. The movie is scheduled for release on April 5. Starring Asif Ali, Biju Menon and Baiju Santhosh in the leads, the movie is expected to be an outright fun-filled mass entertainer. The teaser and songs released so far have also hinted at the same.

Mammootty’s ‘Madura Raja’ is unarguably the most awaited among the Vishu releases. The Vysaksh directorial has Mammootty reprising his character from the 2010 blockbuster film, ‘Pokkiri Raja’. Udhayakrishna, who wrote the original along with Sibi K Thomas, has scripted this one alone. The movie has sky-high expectations majorly due to the fact that Vysakh-Udhayakrishna combo’s last film ‘Pulimurugan’ was a record breaking blockbuster. Mammootty fans will be hoping that the duo can repeat the success this time as well. From the promos, the movie promises to be an action packed mass entertainer.

Fahadh Faasil starrer ‘Athiran’ is the third film in the race. It is probably the least hyped among the three releases – the reason being the lack of publicity. The makers are yet to release the teaser or trailer.But on paper,the team looks super impressive with a solid cast and crew. Fahadh and Sai Pallavi play the lead roles. Debutant Vivek is directing the movie and ‘Ee Maa Yau’ writer PF Mathews is scripting it.
