KS Chithra records a song for ‘Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’

Priyadarshan’s magnum opus ‘Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’ is getting ready to go on floors next month. This highly ambitious period-flick has Mohanlal playing the lead and several other top stars in major roles. After months of pre-production, the makers have finalized the cast and technical crew. Priyadarshan had earlier revealed that he will be experimenting with the music by roping in three different composers.

Ronnie Raphael, a lesser known musical artist who has composed for films like ‘Aalorukkam’, ‘Bobby’ and ‘Overtake’, has been signed for ‘Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’. He recently recorded a song with the legendary KS Chithra. BK Harinarayanan has penned the lyrics. Earlier, Ronnie had taken to his social media handle to express his gratitude to Priyadarshan for him giving such a big opportunity. Sharing a photo with the director, he has written,

“Over the moon as my boy hood dreams are coming true, will be doing music for legendary Priyadarshan sirs prestigious Movie “KUNJALI MARRAKAR”*ing The complete actor Mohanlal. Thank you sir for believing and giving me this opportunity. Much respect and love from the bottom of heart.” (sic)

The makers of ‘Marakkar..’ are yet to officially announce the names of the other composers. Ilayaraaja, MG Sreekumar and ‘Premam’ fame Rajesh Murugesan are some of the names doing the rounds in social medias. Others in the technical crew include cinematographer Tirru and production designer Sabu Cyril. Some leading technicians from abroad will also be associated with this ambitious project.

Aashirvad Cinemas, Confident Group and Moonshot Entertainment are coming together to produce what is one of the most expensive projects in Malayalam cinema till date. The makers are planning to complete the entire shoot by next March and the film will be hitting screens only in 2020 as it demands extensive post production works.
