Lakshmi Chandramouli to play the female lead in Nivin Pauly’s Tamil movie Santa Maria

Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli aka Lakshmi Chandramouli become popular here in Mollywood through the film named Salt Mango tree in which she played the heroine of Biju Menon. The concerned mother character she played in the movie got good response from all over as she had given a really matured performance as the mother of a 5 year old child. Earlier she had acted in a Malayalam movie named Angels as well which had Indrajith in lead role. Now, she is all set to share screen space with Mollywood young super star Nivin Pauly. Lakshmi Chandramouli to play one of the two heroines in Nivin Pauly starrer upcoming Kollywood film Santa Maria. She is playing the character of a fisher woman in this movie directed by Gautham Ramachandran.

Gautham Ramachandran is a debutant and this Tamil film with Nivin Pauly is the remake of a Kannada film named Ulidavaru Kandante. Lakshmi Chandramouli is playing the character played by Yagna Shetty in the original Kannada version. Sradha Sreenath is playing the other main female character in this movie and she is playing the character of a crime reporter as per news coming from Kollywood. The film is a crime drama based on the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu and it had already begun its first schedule. There were reports came few days that the flick has been titled as Santa Maria. But the team behind the film said that they had not yet fixed any title for this movie.

Lakshmi Chandramouli says that it will be a challenging character for her as she had no idea about the life of a fisher woman and along with that she is a pure vegetarian. To deal with fish and all that will be a challenge and she is preparing to make this de-glamourized role as good as she can. Reports suggests that she is playing the love interest of the character played by Natty in this upcoming Tamil film. Natty plays a boat mechanic in this movie.

She had acted in a handful of Tamil films before as well and she made her debut through the Tamil film Mundhinam Partheney in 2010. She acted in Tamil Tamil Television series named Dharmayutham and acted in a Telugu movie named Gauravam.
