Lijo Jose Pellissery Presents ‘Moonwalk’: A Breakdance-Driven Youth Saga Releasing on May 30

Ace Malayalam filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery is set to bring a fresh wave to the big screen with “Moonwalk”, hitting theatres on May 30. For the first time, Lijo joins hands with Superhit producer Listin Stephen, in a film that pays tribute to the electrifying breakdance culture of the 1980s and 90s that captivated youth around the globe. The trailer of this Film which features over a hundred newcomers delivering high-energy performances, has already taken social media by storm with its vibrancy and spirit.

Directed by Vinod A.K., known for his notable work in commercials, “Moonwalk” is jointly produced by Listin Stephen and Jasni Ahmed under the banners Magic Frames, Amen Movie Monastery, and Firewood Shows. The film stands out for introducing a fresh cast to Malayalam cinema, with shooting primarily done in and around Thiruvananthapuram. Distributed by Magic Frames, the film also stars Srikanth Murali, Veena Nair, Sanjana Doss, and Meenakshi Ravindran in key supporting roles alongside the vibrant new talents.

The story and screenplay have been co-written by Vinod A.K., Mathew Varghese, and Sunil Gopalakrishnan, who aim to portray the journey of a spirited group of youth who embrace dance as a way of life. With music composed by Prashant Pillai and lyrics penned by Vinayak Sasikumar, Sunil Gopalakrishnan, and Nithin V Nair, the film also boasts cinematography by Ansar Shah and editing by Deepu Joseph and Kiran Das.
