Lokesh Kanagaraj retains Master technical team for Vikram

Lokesh Kanagaraj has fast become one of the most wanted filmmakers in Tamil cinema. After making a noteworthy debut in 2017 with ‘Maanagaram’, the youngster impressed everyone with the blockbuster success of ‘Kaithi’. Immediately after that, he signed ‘Master’ with Thalapathy Vijay.

Even before its release, Lokesh has got an opportunity to make a film with his idol Kamal Haasan. Titled as ‘Vikram’, the film is expected to be a spin-off of Kamal’s character from the 1986 film of the same name. In the title teaser of Lokesh’s film, the same iconic background score from the yesteryear film was reused.

Lokesh has already begun the pre-production works of ‘Vikram’. It is learnt that the same technical team of ‘Master’ is being retained. Music department will be handled by Anirudh Ravichander. Cinematographer Sathyan Sooryan and editor Philomin Raj, who both were part of ‘Kaithi’ and ‘Master’, are also said to be on board.

Kamal’s own production house Raaj Kamal Film International (RKFI) is producing ‘Vikram’, which is planned as a summer 2021 release.
