Malayalam actor Sasi Kallinga passes away!

Malayalam film actor Sasi Kallinga passed away in the wee hours of Tuesday. The 59-year-old breathed his last at a private hospital in Kozhikode. He was suffering from liver related ailments for quite some time.

Sasi Kallinga’s real name is V Chandrakumar. It was director Ranjith who gave him his screen name. He was active in Malayalam theatre area for 25 years having acted in over 500 plays. He made his debut in cinema in the year 1998 with the film ‘Thakarachenda’. His first notable role came in the Ranjith directorial ‘Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha’. He played the role of a cop named DySP Mohandas Manalath in the film.

Sasi Kallinga acted in over 250 films in his career. He was famous for his comedy roles. Some of his most popular performances came in films like ‘Amen’, ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’, ‘Pranchiyettan And The Saint’ etc. He last acted in the VM Vinu directorial ‘Kuttimama’.
