Malayalam film industry mourns Nedumudi Venu’s demise
Nedumudi Venu’s passing away has left the whole Malayalam industry and movie lovers grieving. In a career spanning over four decades, the veteran has acted in more than 500 films. The 73-year-old has worked with the likes of KG George, Aravindan, Bharath Gopy, Mohanlal, Mammootty to Nivin Pauly, Dulquer Salmaan, Aashiq Abu, Vysakh and Vineeth Sreenivasan.
Several industry insiders took to their social media handles to share their experiences with Nedumudi Venu. Mohanlal and Mammootty penned emotional notes on their bond with Venu, which, according to them, is more than just friendship. Manju Warrier wrote about he was like a father figure to her. Similarly, Prithviraj Sukumaran , Jayaram, Suresh Gopi, Sathyan Anthikad, Tovino Thomas, Asif Ali, and many paid their condolences online.
Mammootty and Mohanlal visited Nedumudi Venu’s house in Thiruvananthapuram last evening. His mortal remains are currently kept at Ayyankali Hall for the public to pay their last respects. Funeral rites will be held at 2 PM with police honours.
