Malayalam poet-lyricist Anil Panachooran passes away
Malayalam poet-lyricist Anil Panachooran passed away on Sunday night. He breathed his last at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. Though initial reports suggested that he was Covid-19 positive, the family members have registered a case with the Kayamkulam Police for unnatural death. His cremation will be held only after a post mortem is conducte.
As per reports, Panachooran (55) fell unconscious when he was on the way to Chettikulangara temple. Later, he was admitted to hospitals in Mavelikkara and Karunagappally. Though he rushed to KIMS hospital in Thiruvananthapuram after his condition worsened, he passed away by 8 PM. Several people including superstars Mohanlal, Mammootty, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala condoled his untimely death.
Anil Panachooran made his debut as a lyricist in 2007 with the Lal Jose directorial ‘Arabikkatha’. He became famous for his lyrics in movies including ‘Kadha Parayumbol’, ‘Madambi’, ‘Marykkundoru Kunjaadu’ and ‘Velipadinte Pusthakam’ among many others. His poems ‘Valayil veena kilikal’, ‘Anadhan’, ‘Pranayakalam’ were also famous among Malayalis.
