Malayali actress Samyukhtha Menon enters Tamil cinema through Kalari

The trend of Mollywood actresses foraying into other industries have been prevalent from the days of Shobhana and Urvashi. Many Malayali actresses like Asin, Nayanthara and Nitya Menen have made a mark for themselves in other languages with their performances. More recently actresses like Keerthy Suresh and Anu Immanuel have been signing for some big projects with top actors. We have one more addition to the list of Malayali actresses foraying into other industries.

Model turned actress Samyukhtha Menon is entering Tamil cinema through Kalari, an upcoming movie written and directed by Kiranchand. The movie, produced by Senith Keloth under the banner Nakshathra Movie Magic stars Krishna Kulashekharan, Vishnu, Jayaprakash, MS Bhaskar and Vidya Pradeep.

Samyukhtha is playing the role of Thenmozhi, a solid character unlike the usual glam doll roles in Tamil commercial movies. She made her debut in acting through Aneesh Upasaana’s comic caper Popcorn, released last year. Though the movie was a commercial failure, her character Anjana was well noted.

Samyukhtha Menon, who hails from Palakkad, is a voracious reader who also writes articles in English and Malayalam. Some of her works have also been published in periodicals. She is trained in dancing and loves travelling unaccompanied. The pretty actress has committed for some exciting movies in Malayalam, details about which will be revealed shortly.
