Malayankunj is a survival thriller about a natural calamity

Fahadh Faasil had recently announced his new project, ‘Malayankunj’. His father, veteran director Fazil is producing the film. It marks the father-son duo’s reunion after nearly two decades. Mahesh Narayanan is scripting the film and debutant Sajimon is directing it.

In an interview to The Cue, Fazil has revealed that ‘Malayankunj’ is a survival thriller that is based on a natural calamity. It tells the story of few ordinary people. Fazil also confirmed that the film will only be a theaterical release as it demands a big screen experience. The makers are currently finalizing the casting. Shoot is planned to begin in February.

The makers have assembled a talented technical crew. Sushin Shyam will be handling the music department and Arju Benn is charge of the edits. Sound designers Vishnu Shankar-Sree Govind, production designer Jyothish Shankar, costumer Dhanya Balakrishnan, production controller Benny Kattappana and make up artist Ranjith Ambady are also part of the team.
