Mamangam teaser to be released on Mammootty’s birthday

‘Mamangam’, the most hyped Mammootty film in recent times is currently in the final stages of post-production. While fans have been eagerly waiting to hear updates about the film, it is learnt that the makers are planning to its teaser on Mammootty’s birthday, which falls on September 7. It is certain to be double the treat for the fans. The M Padmakumar directorial is shaping up as an action packed historical flick. Venu Kunnappilly of Kavya Films is producing the film.

As per the makers, ‘Mamangam’ is a historic film with almost 80% of it being inspired from real events. The movie’s original director Sajeev Pillai penned the script after an extensive research of over twelve years. Shankar Ramakrishnan later adapted the screenplay. It is based on the religious festival, Mamangam, that took place every twleve years in a place called Thirunavaya, on the banks of the Bharathapuzha, for over 280 years.

‘Mamangam’ has Mammootty playing a the role of a fearless ‘chaaver’. Unni Mukundan also plays a prominent character as Chandroth Panicker. Others in the cast include Kaniha, Anu Sithara, Prachi Tehlan, Siddique, Sudev Nair, Tarun Arora, Suresh Krishna, Mani Kuttan, Manikandan, Ineya and Sudheer Sukumaran.
