Mammootty’s ‘Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse’ May Get a Sequel, Hints Gautham Vasudev Menon

Acclaimed filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon, making his Malayalam directorial debut with Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse, has hinted at the possibility of a sequel if the film garners success. Starring Mammootty in the lead, the film is set for release on January 23, 2025.

Gautham, originally from Ottapalam, Kerala, but raised in Tamil Nadu, described this project as a long-cherished dream. The story was penned by Dr. Neeraj and Dr. Sooraj, who approached Gautham through a mutual acquaintance, actor Manju Warrier. Despite initial hesitation, Mammootty was captivated by the unique narrative and agreed not only to star in the film but also to produce it under his banner, Mammootty Kampany.

The movie, completed in an intense 45-day schedule, focuses on a realistic, character-driven storyline. Gautham, a devoted fan of Mammootty, shared his excitement about the filmmaking process and the challenges it presented.

Discussing sequels, Gautham expressed his passion for exploring character depth and shared that he already has ideas for continuing Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse. However, he emphasized that such projects need to come at the right time. Fans eagerly await the film’s release and potential for future installments.
