Renji Panicker is the firebrand writer in Mollywood for long years and he has also made his mark as a director as well. Few years back he came to the field of acting as well through the film Om Shanti Oshana by Jude Antony Joseph. Very quickly he became popular as an actor and now one of the busiest actor in M-town. His association with Shaji Kailas is one of the most successful writer-director combination in Mollywood who has given many hit films in Malayalam film industry.

Renji Panicker has written for Suresh Gopi and Mammootty more and among the superstars of Mollywood he has written for Mohanlal only one time. Renji Panicker said that even before he came to the film field through the association with Shaji Kailas, Mammootty was the hero in his mind and still it is Mammootty. Renji Panicker says that it is because of the style of his writing and thought process which suits Mammootty’s manliness more than that of others. Mohanlal has a different kind of approach to acting and presenting a role.

Renji Panicker has written many firebrand films and he had written many fierce dialogues as well. According to him Mammootty and Suresh Gopi are the actors who are suitable for his style of writing and Mammootty comes to his mind at first whenever he starts writing a script. His dialogues for Mammootty in films like The King were so popular in Mollywood.

He says that he had wrote the hit film Ekalavyan directed by Shaji Kailas by keeping Mammootty in mind. But Mammootty did not do that film because of a misunderstanding and later Suresh Gopi comes in place of Mammootty in that film. It was a super success and also a turning point in Suresh Gopi’s as well as Renji Panicker’s career. Renji had wrote classic firebrand films like Commissioner, Lelam etc for Suresh Gopi later.

He was associated with Shaji Kailas and Joshiy more as they were the kind of film makers that suits his style of writing. He has done only one film with Mohanlal as a writer and it was Praja directed by Joshiy. The film which bombed at Box Office that time later acquired great followers when it came to mini screen.
