Mammootty, Mohanlal, Prithviraj & Nivin Pauly ruled the last 9 months

Malayalam cinema had entered the 10 month of this year and there are a lot of projects waiting for release in our industry in the remaining 90 days of this year. Lots of films had come this year till this September 30th and it is very sad to say that there is failures more in number than the successful ones for Mollywood. But when we consider the films that are made profits in box office, whether it is big or small, as usual the super stars are leading the pack with youngsters going great as well. It is Mega Star Mammootty and Universal Star Mohanlal leading the pack of most successful heroes this year with Prithvi Raj and Nivin Pauly who had done terrific jobs. All these four have 2 successes each this year and standing shoulder to shoulder in box office success.

Mega Star Mammootty began the year with a moderate success name Fireman directed by Deepu Karunakaran and financed by Milan Jaleel. But he followed it up with a blockbuster success of Bhaskar the rascal directed by Siddique. It was a sort of real comeback from Mammootty after some torrid times at box office. But he proved that he is still here with the mass power of a star.

When it comes to the Universal star Mohanlal, he once again proved that in box office power he is still the ruler here with two super hits named Ennum Eppozhum directed by Sathyan Anthikkad and Loham conceived by Renjith. Both these films were came out of his own production house Ashirvad Cinemas as well which is an icing on the cake for him. Both these films made great profit even after getting mixed word of mouth and that make it clear about his box office power.

Prithviraj just like Mammootty started his year with a moderate success named Picket 43 which is helmed by Major Ravi. But Last month he came back with the first ever solo blockbuster of his career named Ennu Ninte Moideen directed by RS Vimal which had become a classic now in Mollywood. But Nivin Pauly is unarguably the star of the year so far as he had given towo blockbusters back to back this year with Oru Vadakkan selfi by G Prajith and Premam by Alphons Puthran which also become the second highest grosser here right after Drishyam.
