Mammootty to play a historic character yet again!

Malayalam superstar Mammootty is famous for his ability to portray historic characters. Some of his most memorable performances came in films like ‘Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha’ and ‘Pazhassi Raja’. His fit physique, appealing voice and overall charisma all suits well while doing such characters. More recently, he played the role of a warrior in ‘Mamangam’.

As per latest reports, the superstar is set to play a historic character once again. This time he will be appearing as King Marthanda Varma. Director Hariharan is planning to make an ambitious film based on the life of Kunchan Nambiar. While Prithviraj will be playing the lead role of Kunchan Nambiar, Mammootty will be essaying an cameo role as Marthanda Varma. More details regarding the same are still awaited.

The film titled as ‘Kalakkathu Kunchan Nambiar’ is scripted by K Jayakumar and produced by Gokulam Films. It was supposed to be officially launched with a pooja ceremony on Vishu day but the makers had to drop their plans due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
