Mammootty teams up with Nadirshah for ‘I’m A Disco Dancer’

For a while now there have been reports about Mammootty and Nadirshah teaming up. The project has now been confirmed. If reports are to be believed, the movie has been titled as ‘I am a Disco Dancer’. Ashiq Usman will be producing the movie. Last day, the producer updated a Facebook post detailing his banner’s upcoming films in 2019. Though he didn’t reveal the cast, he confirmed about a project with Nadirshah. Rajesh Paravoor and Rajesh Panavally are scripting the movie.

Reports about Nadirshah and Mammootty teaming up first surfaced two years back. It was speculated that Mammootty would be playing a vertically challenged man in the movie. However, that project didn’t materialise. From the title of the newly announced film, it is evident that it will be a complete fun entertainer on the lines of Nadirshah’s previous two superhits – ‘Amar Akbar Antony’ and ‘Kattapanayile Rithwik Roshan’.

Meanwhile, Mammootty is busy working on multiple films. He has a handful of promising films coming up. He is currently shooting for Shankar Ramakrishnan’s directorial debut ‘Pathinettam Padi’, in which he plays a cameo role. He also has two other films in progress – Vysakh’s ‘Madura Raja’ and Khalid Rahman’s ‘Unda’. The next schedule of his epic-period film, ‘Maamankaam’ will be commencing this month.

Besides the ones on floors, Mammootty has also signed for ‘Ameer’, big budget film with director Vinod Vijayan, ‘Ganagandharvan’ with Ramesh Pisharody and a sequel to his 2007 film ‘Big B’. The megastar’s next release will be the YSR biopic ‘Yatra’, scheduled to hit screens on February 8. His highly anticipated Tamil film, ‘Peranbu’ has also been confirmed as a February release, though the exact date has not been announced.
