Mani Ratnam to resume shoot of Ponniyin Selvan!

Due to the Corona virus outbreak, many films had to be shelved. Shoot of several big films have been put on hold for the last few months. Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is one among them. It is an ambitious with a plethora of stars from various languages. If recent reports are to be believed, the makers are planning to resume shoot in Pune by September. An official confirmation is still awaited.

The film is originally based on a historical Tamil novel written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. It tells the story of early days of Arulmozhivarman, who later became the great Chola emperor Raja Raja Chola I. The film has a stellar star cast comprising of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, Trisha, Vikram Prabhu, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Kishore, Jayaram, Rahman, Lal, Ashwin Kakumanu and many others.

Mani Ratnam’s own banner Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions are collaborating for this mega budget film’s production.
