Mani Ratnam reveals that he’s a huge fan of Lijo Jose Pellissery!

Mani Ratnam is one of those celebrities who prefers staying away from the limelight. He does not own an active social media account but guess the lockdown has been so bad that even Mani Ratnam came online to interact with fans. Last day, Mani Ratnam and his wife Suhasini interacted with fans in Instagram through the latter’s page. The director took questions from his followers and answered them all in his typical sarcastic tone.

Along with many other followers, Malayali filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery was also watching the celebrity couple’s live video. When Suhasini noticed that Lijo is watching the video, she revealed how they both are big fans of his works. Though Suhasini has watched only one of Lijo’s films, Mani Ratnam seems to have followed all his works. They both particularly mentioned about ‘Ee Maa Yau’, ‘Jallikkattu’ and ‘Angamaly Diaries’. Mani Ratnam even added that Lijo is one of the finest filmmakers we have today and urged him to continue the good work.

A compliment from a legendary filmmaker like Mani Ratnam is indeed huge and Lijo Jose Pellissery could not have asked for more. Though Lijo has always been doing quality, experimental films, his popularity grew outside Kerala after the success of his last three films — ‘Angamaly Diaries’, ‘Ee Maa Yau’ and ‘Jallikkattu’. The director’s next film ‘Churuli’ is getting ready. Shot in just 19 days, the film has Joju George, Chemban Vinod Jose and Vinay Forrt in the lead roles.
