Martin Prakkat to produce Aishwarya Lekshmi’s next

Director Martin Prakkat is set to produce a female centric film with Aishwarya Lekshmi in the lead. Akhil Anilkumar, a popular name in the Malayalam short film circles, will be making his directorial debut with this film. The makers had recently released a casting call looking for aspiring actors.

Akhil Anilkumar is noted for helming some hit short films like ‘Avittam – The Good Day of Unnikuttan’, ‘Adi – Fight and Fight Only’, ‘Anch – Gudhagava Jingalaala’ and ‘Devika +2 Biology’. The last one was a viral hit that has fetched over 2.4 million views in YouTube alone. Akhil’s maiden directorial with Aishwarya Lekshmi is expected to be a fun flick similar to be his short films.

Aishwarya has been away from Malayalam cinema for nearly a year now. She was last seen in the Prithviraj starrer ‘Brother’s Day’. For the last few months, she has been shooting for her Tamil films – ‘Suruli’ and ‘Ponniyin Selvan’. ‘Suruli’ starring Dhanush in the lead is a gangster flick directed by Karthik Subbaraj. ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is Mani Ratnam’s two-part epic film that has a plethora of stars from across the country.

More details regarding Akhil Anilkumar’s film with Aishwarya Lekshmi is expected to be revealed in the coming days.
