Massive opening for Shylock; Over 100 extra shows added on first day!

Amidst huge expectations, Mammootty’s ‘Shylock’ hit screens last day (January 23). Going by the initial response, the film has managed to lived up to the hype. Fans seem to have lapped up the film as a whopping 100 + shows got added across various centres in Kerala. If reports are to be believed, the film has played around 920 shows on the opening day in the state.

‘Shylock’ is already the biggest opener of 2020 in Malayalam. Bookings for weekend shows are also getting filled in large numbers. With the support of family and neutral audience, the film is most likely to become one of the biggest hits in recent years for Mammootty.

‘Shylock’ is an out and out mass entertainer that has a terrific Mammootty at the helm of things. His energy, charisma and his quirky mannerisms seems to be the talking point of the film. In what is otherwise an usual storyline, it is Mammootty who holds things together

‘Shylock’ is directed by Ajai Vasudev of ‘Rajadhiraja’ and ‘Masterpiece’ fame. Bibin Mohan and Aneesh Hameed have jointly scripted the film. Along with Mammootty, the film also veteran Tamil actor Raj Kiran in a prominent role. There is a big supporting cast comprising of actors like Meena, Bibin George, Baiju, John Kaippallil Siddique, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Anson Paul, Arthana Binu, John Vijay, Arjun Nandakumar and Hareesh Kanaran.
