Master is the highest grossing movie for the opening weekend globally

Vijay-Vijay Sethupathi starrer ‘Master’ has given a major booster to the film industry that has been severely hit due to the pandemic. After almost 10 months of no major release, the film had a grand theatrical release on January 13. It opened to extraordinary response at the box office and stormed passed the 100 crore mark in just 3 days of its release.

Apart from the excellent performance in the domestic markets, ‘Master’ is also making waves in international markets as per Deadline. It is now the the highest grossing movie for the opening weekend, globally. The film ended the weekend as the topper ahead of the next placed Chinese film, ‘A Little Red Flower’ ($11.7 M).

Confirming the same, makers XB Film Creators tweeted,

‘Master’ has earned more than 3 million dollars in UAE, Australia, Singapore and New Zealand, and the US, as per the trade publication.
It broke the lifetime records in Saudi Arabia and has become the most watched Indian film in the region with over 18,000 admissions beating the previous best, ‘War’, comfortably.5
