Meppadiyan: Unni Mukundan’s next is a crime thriller

After the completion of ‘Mamangam’, Unni Mukundan had been on a two-month long break. He is now back in action as his new film ‘Meppadiyan’ has been launched. Directed by debutant Vishnu Mohan, the film is said to be a crime thriller. Noorin Sheriff and debutante Aparna Janardhanan play the female leads. Noorin and Unni were supposed to act together in ‘Chocolate: Retold’, but we hear that the project hae been shelved as of now.

Unni Mukundan has pinned high hopes on ‘Meppadiyan’. According to director Vishnu Mohan, Unni plays a different role in the film and his character has been named as Jayakrishnan. The story is about how Jayakrishnan overcomes the unexpected turn of events in his life.

Unni’s next release is the hugely awaited ‘Mamangam’. While Mammootty plays the lead role, Unni is essaying a very important character of Chandroth Panicker, a warrior. The ripped physique that he is sporting in the film has already become a talking point. It is expected to be a big breakthrough for him.
