MG Sreekumar croons a song for Mohanlal’s Aarattu

The vintage Mohanlal-MG Sreekumar combo is back for the superstar’s new film ‘Aarattu’. Music director Rahul Raj has shared the big news with his followers in Facebook. This is Rahul’s first ever collaboration with MG Sreekumar and the composer is extremely thrilled about it. An excited Rahul has written,

I had been wishing for this since a long time but it’s happening now ?

Though MG Sreekumar hasn’t been very active in films these days, most of his songs still remain favourites among Malayalis. Over the last three decades, he has sung several blockbuster songs for Mohanlal’s films. Both the star’s fans and music lovers will be expecting another chartbuster number from the combo.

‘Aarattu’ directed by B Unnikrishnan went on floors only recently. Udhayakrishna is scripting the film, which is basically a mass-masala entertainer with action, comedy and all essential commercial ingredients in it. Mohanlal plays a larger-than-life character named Neyyattinkara Gopan in the film. Shraddha Srinath of ‘Vikram Vedha’ fame has been signed as the female lead. The supporting cast includes Sai Kumar, Siddique, Nedumudi Venu, Indrans Vijayaraghavan, Swasika, Neha Saxena, Rachana Narayanankutty and Sheela.
