Mohanlal is the only actor in Mollywood with three 50 crore movies

Not many Malayalam movies have touched the 50 crore club. Drishyam, Ennu Ninte Moideen, Premam, 2 Countries and more recently Oppam are the movies that have officially grossed more than 50 crores from Mollywood.

Now the latest to join the list is another Mohanlal starrer Pulimurugan. Pulimurugan directed by Vysakh was released on October 7th to tremendous reception. The movie was released amidst humongous hype and expectations.

Pulimurugan continues to create waves at the box office even . Houseful shows are on even after three weeks from its release. Now the movie has officially crossed the 50 crore mark.

Pulimurugan is on course to beat Drishyam and end up as the all time highest grosser of Malayalam Cinema. It is a rare phenomenon where we see two Mohanlal movies running with packed theatres at the same time.

As of now Drishyam is the highest grossing Malayalam movie. Mohanlal now has three 50 crore movies in Drishyam, Oppam and Pulimurugan.

Pulimurugan released during the Pooja holidays triggered a never before seen rush in theatres across the state.

Pulimurugan is an action packed entertainer produced by Tomichan Mulakupadam under his banner Mulakupadam films.

Pulimurugan was made on a budget of around 25 crores and it is indeed remarkable that the movie was grossed double the amount within three weeks from release.
