My post was not against Mohanlal : Bhagyalakshmi

Dubbing artist Bhagyalakshmi who is also a social activist, had written a Facebook post yesterday about the trouble she had in paying hospital bills due to the government’s sudden decision to scrap the higher denomination notes of 500 and 1000.

Medias reported that Bhagyalakshmi’s post was against superstar Mohanlal’s controversial blog. But Bhagyalakshmi has dismissed these reports through another Facebook post. She has written that her earlier post was about the difficulty she had to face due to the demonetisation issue and not against Mohanlal.

She also added that, those who do not believe in what she had written, should visit hospitals to see people suffering due to the government’s sudden decision. Many patients do not have ATM cards and relatives who could support them financially.

Mohanlal in his recent blog post had supported the government’s decision of scrapping the notes. He had also compared people standing in queues in liquor shops and movie theatres with people waiting outside banks and ATMs in long queues to withdraw their own money.

The actor has been facing the ire of many people and politicians for commenting on the issue without realising the ground reality.

Bhagyalakshmi’s recent post has set the rumour mills to rest. Earlier politicians MLA VT Balaraman and VD Satheesan opposed Mohanlal’s views and criticised him for taking such a stand.
