Mohanlal Confirms Drishyam 3 with Jeethu Joseph: “The Past Never Stays Silent”

Malayalam cinema’s most celebrated crime thriller franchise is set to return! Superstar Mohanlal officially announced Drishyam 3, reuniting with director Jeethu Joseph and producer Antony Perumbavoor. Sharing a photo with the duo, the actor wrote, “The Past Never Stays Silent. Drishyam 3 Confirmed!” The announcement instantly went viral, thrilling fans worldwide.

The Drishyam series has been a game-changer for Malayalam cinema, with the first installment (2013) becoming the first Malayalam film to cross ₹50 crore. Its sequel, Drishyam 2, released directly on Prime Video in 2021, received immense appreciation and ended on a gripping cliffhanger, leaving room for a third part. The franchise’s massive success led to multiple remakes in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Sinhalese, and Chinese.

Meanwhile, Mohanlal has a packed slate with L2: Empuraan, the much-awaited sequel to Lucifer, releasing on March 27, 2025, followed by Thudarum in May. He also shoots for Mahesh Narayanan’s upcoming multistarrer with Mammootty, Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, and Nayanthara.
