Mohanlal-Major Ravi team coming with a family drama based on Ambika Nair’s Qutb Minar

Major Ravi-Mohanlal team had given us super successful military films like Keerthichakra and Kurukshetra earlier. There has been reports came earlier that they are joining again for another military movie based on 71 war between India and Pakistan. The pre-production works of that movie is going on now.

But the report about another movie by this team is coming now. This film will be a family drama based on the short story titled Qutb Minar written by Ambika Nair. They had already bought the rights of the story from her and popular screen writer John Paul will write the screenplay for this family drama.

Major Ravi said that he already had a discussion with Mohanlal and he loved the story. But he wants the complete screenplay before he commits to this project. So they are working on the screenplay now. Major Ravi said that the military film will begin its shooting in this coming September in Rajastan. They had got the permission from Indian Army to shoot the film in the real army site and the film will be a big budget project.

The family drama will be a next year project of Mohanlal if everything goes well. His character name will be Balu in this movie and the location of its filming will be in Delhi. The short story is based on the life of two friends and their families which is shattered by a bomb blast in Delhi.
