Mohanlal as Neyyattinkara Gopan in B Unnikrishnan’s mass entertainer, Aarattu!

Mohanlal’s new film with director B Unnikrishnan is all set to go on floors. As per reports, the film has been titled as ‘Aarattu’ and Mohanlal will be seen playing a larger-than-life character named Neyyattinkara Gopan in it. Udhayakrishna is scripting the film, which is basically a mass-masala entertainer. Set in a rural backdrop, the film will have action, comedy and all essential commercial ingredients in it.

Shraddha Srinath of ‘Vikram Vedha’ fame has been signed as the female lead. This is her second outing in Malayalam after the 2015-released ‘Kohinoor’. She will be playing an IAS officer’s role in the film. The supporting cast includes Sai Kumar, Siddique, Nedumudi Venu, Indrans Vijayaraghavan, Swasika, Rachana Narayanankutty and Sheela. Vijay Ulaganath is the DOP and edits will be handled by Shameer Muhammed. Rahul Raj is the music director.

The makers are planning to start shooting by the end of this month after Mohanlal returns back from his Dubai trip.
