Mohanlal receives Padma Bhushan award
The Padma award distribution ceremony was held in New Delhi today. President of India Ram Nath Kovind honoured the award winners in the event. Legendary Malayali actor Mohanlal received the Padma Bhushan, the nation’s third highest civilian award, from the President.
Padma Bhushan is yet another feather on Mohanlal’s four decade long remarkable acting career. A winner of multiple National awards, the veteran has worked in over 300 languages. Though he predominately starred in Malayalam movies, he has also done some notable roles in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi movies.
From Kerala, actor Mohanlal and former ISRO cryogenic division head Nambi Narayanan were honoured with Padma Bhushan awards. Three other Malayalis – Swami Vishudhananda, singer KG Jayan and archaeologist KK Muhammed were awarded the Padma Shri. Keralites who won the awards will be felicitated by Delhi Malayalis at Kerala House today evening.
