Mohanlal-Sibi Malayil team uniting again ?

Mohanlal and Sibi Malayil, an actor-director pair who had given us some evergreen classic films earlier is all set to unite again and if the reports coming in are true, then we may see a film from this combo next year. Producer Santhosh Kottayi (Laila O Laila fame) had posted a photo on his Facebook profile which he took from Hyderabad during a meeting with Mohanlal where director Sibi Malayil also present with them. Mohanlal is at Hyderabad now for the final schedule of Janata Garage, his Telugu film with Jr. NTR.

Few weeks back, Onlookers Media had published an article related to the impact this pair had in Mollywood and how relevant was their movies in M-Town. We also mentioned about the need of such films from this combination again to bring back the quality once we had in Mollywood. People still expect great films from this combo and when it comes to Sibi Malayil, audience here believes that he is one among a few who can make movies which can bring the best out of Mohanlal as an actor.

Their earlier films like Kireedom, Bharatham, Sadayam, Kamaladalam, His Highness Abdulla, Chenkol, Dasaradham etc were ones which made Malayalam cinema proud with its content and the characters played by Mohanlal in those movies considered among the best performances of him as well. People still want such great films from this team which has life in them. Their films were not just entertainers but films which showed people their own life and they had done it realistically as well.

What we can make out from the Facebook post of Santhosh Kottayi is that, Mohanlal-Sibi Malayil combination may come again very soon and it will be produced by Santhosh Kottayi under his production banner of Finecut Entertainments. Let’s wait for the official announcement of the project.
