Mohanlal welcomes Meena to Drishyam 2 team

Popular South Indian actress Meena is celebrating her birthday today. Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, who has worked with Meena in several films, wished her through his official social media handle. He also took the special occasion to formally welcome her to join the team of ‘Drishyam 2’. It is an official confirmation that Meena will be reprising the role of Rani from the original.

‘Drishyam 2’ story will continue exactly from where the first part ended. The narrative will once again revolve around the lives of Georgekutty and family. Jeethu Joseph is directing the film and all the major actors from ‘Drishyam’ are expected to be part of the sequel as well.

Shoot was planned to begin earlier this week but it had to be pushed as set works are yet to be completed. The makers are hoping to go on floors by the end of this month. As the Covid-19 crisis is worsening, shoot will be conducted as per the safety protocols. Kochi and Thodupuzha are the major locations. Mohanlal’s own production house Aashirvad Cinemas is producing the film.
